Long train ride from Rothenburg to Bolzano, Italy! We had to take a small train that we barely made on time to steinach. Then called a train their 4 minutes later to treuchtlingen, then 5 min after that a train to Muchen (Munich). Before our last train to Bolzano Italy. In all we left at 9:06 am from Rothenburg and got to town at 5:27 pm with an hour to get ok lunch in Munich! On our train to Munich the door to our car stopped working... ... Just to add to Finlay's perspective of day two. I did have a test drive and yes I was worried about running over cyclists. changing gears was also challening. The roads are so narrow and so winding it was like playing frogger but dodging MAMILs. After my relaxing drive the girls and I thought it might be safer to catch the bus to our next stop. Swim, sauna and football for the men before a truely delicious 6 course meal all included in the price. My God, I'm going to become a little fat piglet with all this Italian ...

The motorbike travellers are all well rugged up as it is quite cold. We checked into our hotel, Grand Europa not far from the Central Train station and wandered into the Old Town for a late lunch. The restaurant we ate at was built in 1390. After that we got on a bus that went around Innsbruck and stopped at the Tyrol Panorama ...

You probably think I've added one to many 0's. Well I haven't. In the South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology, Bolzano there is a rather shrivelled, mangled mummy called Otzi the 5000 year old Iceman, living in 3300 BCE. He is called Otzi because he was found in the Otzal Alps in 1991 by a German (Helmut and Erika Simon) couple out hiking, on the border between Austria and Italy, just a little on the Italian side though. At first they thought he was just a unfortunate ...
