I tour the sanctuary and courtyard before making my way next door to the bell tower. I can’t go in, but as I walk up to it I hear a choir practicing inside. I feel so small standing in front of this giant building that has stood for more than 1600 years.

... that! Next morning we see the public moorings about 100 yards downstream and move there before anybody spots that we're trespassing. Lunch out in Maastricht today, sitting outside under heaters - great 3 course set lunch. Weather freezing and wet.
