Forest thaw
... was overcast, as predicted by the weather forecast. It certainly wasn't cold and the final few kilometers along the lake to the south of Achensee turned into a gentle stroll. A welcome beer in a village cafe and ice cream for the weak-willed. Back to the hotel after a 7-8 miles' walk and a welcome afternoon snooze. Saunas look to be on the agenda again as I write - you'll have to wait for the outcome of ...
Nordic Walking
... by and large. We did see new village features that we would probably have missed, including the main village ski lift and winter sports area. S'pose Barry and I will have to play Cribbage ...

The roads were clear, but no obvious sign of footpaths under the snow. We finally picked up a local road that led us into the village. Achenkirch is very small and has few shops or cafés, just a supermarket on the edge of the village and a goodly ...
