... day and Soph was walking around in a t-shirt. The forecast for the weekend will be a challenge with expected temperatures ranging from -5 to 2. We are hoping for snow!! The think the thermals will come in handy.

Today (Friday), we will catch the bus into Memmingen which is a larger town and meet up with Phil after he has finished his meetings. We have only 1 day left here before we drive onto Lindau.

I toured Hohenschwangau first, then Neuschwanstein. Hohenschwangau is beautiful in its own right, but Neuschwanstein is the real gem. You can get a perfect view of Neuschwanstein from a nearby footbridge (marienbrucke). Each ...

... br> Biked over to the englischer garden (largest urban park in the world, larger than central park), ate at the seehaus beer garden. Ate curry wurst, mountain of sauerkraut, potato salad, eggplant salad, and drank a liter of Paulaner beer. In munich, most places serve beer in either a half-liter or liter sized mug. After buying the meal I realized it was far too large but I forged ahead and consumed all of it anyways. One liter is 34 ounces.

Amazing! King Ludwig II was crazy but he has an amazing castle that was made for him. The weather was not the best but the castle was impressive non the less. Went inside but no pictures of course. For it's massive size the castle is not finished! King Ludwig died (possibly murdered) before it was finished so they stopped production. Beautiful view that I will alway ...

... pretty interesting and more modern than I expected. King Ludwig II lived in a fantasy and the interior of the castle reflected it. The tour guide was pretty interesting as well and it seemed like he had learned English from count Dracula while living in Ireland. The castle is one of the top tourist attractions in Germany and it also has a bit of romance. Perfect Valentines day.
