mistake these for the Dolomites in Switzerland.
Finally onwards I head and the satnav soon has me racing along the motorway
towards Innsbruck. The scenery this m/way runs through is simply staggering and
if I was allowed to stop I would be stopping every five minutes.

The train was almost empty so we spread out and made ourselves comfortable for the 3.5 hour ride. ...

This bus took us to the base of the castle. We jumped off the bus and wandered around the little village/street, at the bottom of the castle where our guide explained a bit about the Luwig familiy and the history of the castle. Then we boarded ...........YEP!......another BUS!!! This bus took us to the top of the ...

... lunch menu), then headed back to Munich on the 2pm train. Thanks to random German railway work, our 2-hour train ride home became 3.5 when the engineer realized the tracks were closed. We transferred to another train....to a bus...to another train. To say the adventure lacked German efficiency is most certainly an understatement.

Tomorrow we pack up early and head to Salzburg and Vienna for Sound of Musicking and Sacher-torte-eating.
