Today breakfast opened at 7:00 and our tour group met at 8:15 in the hotel lobby to embark on a boat trip to Murano Island which is world famous for their glass making. We walked through the streets of Venice to where we caught the boat ride to Murano Island. We enjoyed the approximate 1/2 hour boat ride through the lagoon to the island. Once there, we were given a glass blowing demonstration at Ferro & Lazzarini that was amazing. We ...

After arrival in Bologna I needed a break from the hectic city-to-city rush. I took the next day ...

Our happy foursome all agree - We loved Venice! While Florence is a contemporary city that houses it's antiquities in Museums, Venice is itself an "antiquity". Apart from maintaining or propping up what is there, the city hasn't really changed, apparently, in a 1000 years. The city is remarkably clean and orderly given the number of tourists that visit it daily; twenty million people a year. There have never been any cars or trucks. Everything ...

... San Marco Square, St George Cathedral and many other notable sights. After taking a heap of pictures up there we came back down and walked along the canal. It wasn't so easy. You walk along the canal as far as you can, then you need to follow the alleyways inland until you see another that leads out to the water. You do this quite a bit. We found a ticket office that sold gondola rides, canal tours & island tours. ...
