A full day travelling by bus then 2 trains to see lots of snow, lovely scenery and travel literally through a mountain to arrive at the highest station in Europe at 3454 m.

Arriving just before lunch time we were met with a ghost town, most shops were closed or closely and there were very few people about on the streets, even the big construction site in the middle of the town was workerless. It soon became apparent that Grindelwald has a siesta at lunch times for about 2 hours. Although slightly annoying for us as tourists, I like the fact that there are still places where life isn’t a constant hustle and bustle ...

She's from Arizona and it is her first time to travel all by herself and her first time for a river cruise. She's also a widow. We had dinner together here at the hotel. Abby and Isaac, guess what I had! Spaghetti, ...
