We finally arrived at our hotel, in quite a non descript area about 22km away from Como. It was hard to find anything decent nearby at a reasonable price, and even then this hotel was over our budget. Good thing though is it has a nice pool :)

... walked toward the funicular (aka very steep train driven by massive cables up a very steep hill - see video) and on our way chose a pasta Restuarant to lunch at.....Yum. After lunch we boarded the Funicular much to Maureen's distress, but being a good sport we all boarded although I am not sure Maureen actually looked up. More magnificent views to behold almost too much to take ...
... br> But by the time I woke up it was time for dinner and we went to the local family run pizza restaurant that was recommended. They spoke very little English but we got pizza and it was very good.
That's one thing I miss though just going to a restaurant and getting meat and vege. There is never this option on the menu. So sick of pasta and pizza!! Will cook some meat and vege in Nice when we have an apartment.

Lisa and Ruth found all the jewellery shops - we also frequented a few makeup and granita shops. We had a lovely afternoon wandering in the sun. We made it home for bourbon and Prosecco in the setting ...
... over the lake. The path then gradually wound down, via shady terraces overshadowed by some of those huge trees; even so, the heat got to us so we cooled off with an ice cream, then went into Verbania to do some food shopping.
