... and in spite of the roads, at times, being narrow, windy and steep,
Corinne performed well as a driver and we arrived safely without any dings or

We booked into a campsite on the banks of Lake Verbano, fed
the local ducks and braaied in a slight rain storm.

Well, our week in Milano has come to an end! We had a great time. Toured a few sights. Had a great weekend. Enjoyed the F1 race at Monza. Our accommodation was very close to the Milano Centrale Stn so, we opted to pull our luggage to the station. Didn't see too many taxi's to flag down and probably would've taken longer to attract one then to just walk the few blocks. ... days in there. They even had an entire submarine on display left our little Motat for dead I am afraid.

Found an amazing organic restaurant for lunch then on to see the ancient Roman Colonnade. This is in front of the Basilica di San Lorenzo and one of the few remaining Roman structures still standing in Milan.

Had another look at the Duomo on the way back for our train home for our last night in Como before we head off for Stuttgart.

... views of the lake but spent most of the time exploring the huge gardens. Pretty cool to be able to experience this & get a glimpse of what that that life might have been like.

They even had a bar/cafe at the bottom of the gardens in a converted greenhouse. So sat there on a terrace overlooking the lake enjoying antipasti & a wine. Pretty rough I have to say not really sure how much more relaxed I can get.

    ... building is absolutely massive.

We made our way through the old centre towards the Duomo & stumbled on the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II a very swish mall with a soaring vaulted glass roof. Gordon had some fun in there at the Mercedes store. Then on to the Duomo - the third largest church in the world apparently & kind of hard to believe they get much bigger than this. Didn't see much point in trying to take photos as it ...
