    ... port town of Portovenere instead and board the ferry from there. We climbed to the top where there was an amazing chapel on a cliff which had the most spectacular view. It was breathtaking! There even was a harpist there playing music which just made the mood even more picture perfect.     ... each ordered something different.
    We had bruscetta with purple onions, tomatoes, local sausage and potatoes. To see the potatoes on the bread was a little different but surprisingly I liked it.
    Johan was still sick and he ordered minestrone, which was mainly a broth with white beans. Joerg had flash fried sardines, I had local sausage and potatoes and the best dish of the evening was Nelia’s foccacia with cheese.

    The forecast was good, so on our land lady's recommendation we took the ferry do we south to Portavenere. It was an amazing trip, looking at the little villages and homes clinging to the steep hills falling away tot he sea. It was not uncommon to see houses either side of a massive rockslide. I am not sure how the sleep soundly at night, but they seem to have been there for a while. ...
