... there's a path that flows between them of which there were a number of mudslides and it wiped out the bath but you could visibly see it from the water taxis that we took to go from village to village. One thing Elizabeth and I can both agree upon oh my God a enough with the steps already. ... it dangerous. The following town Corniglia is above sea level and therefore not one of the stops. On from here is Vernazza. We had decided not to get off here but wait until the next town Monterosso. Unfortunately whilst people were getting off and on at Vernazza, it took quite a while and the boat swayed back and forward, up and down and because we had to sit inside (top deck was full) Gary and I did not feel too flash!!!! ...

The four of us were met by a VBT representative along with 2 other couples where we jumped into a van for a short drive to our Hotel in Portovenere. We will use this a base camp for the next two days. Checked into our room facing the harbor with a nice balcony @ the Hotel Royal Sport .The room was quite small and the bathroom was teeny tiny, but it was clean and the view was spectacular!

... Monterosso (the town that is furthest northwest), spent some time enjoying the town and then began the walk along the coast back to the next town, Vernazza. It was a beautiful walk, along a narrow path, built along the cliffs with lots and lots of steps.
