    ... dinner in the restaurant recommended by Gilberto. It is in the oldest building in the village- built in the late 14th - early 15th century! The frescos in the restaurant are in original condition and are beautiful. Dinner is delicious! I have bean and spelt soup (3rd night I've had this soup in Tuscany) and then a Tuscan roasted pork cutlet on the bone with roast potatoes.     ... on the opposite side of the Arno from our hotel, and saw the Uffizi from across the river, as well as the Ponte Vecchio from a distance. We also encountered some monuments and a modern sculpture of Saint John the Baptist. We were told we would see a lot of things dedicated to him all over the city, as he is in fact the city’s patron saint.

    ... it to try to figure out how to use one...just out of curiosity. Neither one of us has felt the need to actually try to use one! Apparently Italians are very afraid of having done kind of "I've fallen and I can't get up" accident in the shower.
