... t afford, flex days, long vacations, free baklava. I don't know. All I know is that you can't spend like tomorrow will never come unless you're terminally ill or something. Politicians were getting kick backs. Not like Mike Duffy and tax baloney but outright payouts like Brian Mulroney and his Airbus suitcase of cash. The following day we will be in Israel. It will be Happy Hour ...

On Katherine's to do list from her 1976 trip to Europe after university was the hike down the Samaria Gorge. At 16 km, it is the longest gorge in Europe. It was a bridge too far then but not this time, 40 years later. This time we were staying in Hania which is the closest city to the Gorge. We booked a round trip bus from our hotel. Although the pickup time was earlier than a regular bus we were guaranteed ...

... to the Folklore Museum (we had done one of those this trip so we have already paid our dues!!) there is an old door. (So far so good---I like doors!!). The door will be open. Go inside and you will find a tradition of Rethymnon that you will not find anywhere else! Here we found Yiorgos (George) Haziparaskos who has been working here since 1946, starting when he was 25 years old. You do the math!! Here we watched Yiorgos and his wife ...
