Aegean Airlines flight to Heraklion late leaving but made up a bit of time. Collected our hire car then drove to Rethymnon - about 90 mins. Room 111 at Rimondi Boutique Hotel was on the top floor, lots of stairs to access but spacious & private. On our ferry trip from Rhodes to Crete a man fell from another boat, into the sea. It was 10.30 at night and our ferry was the closest, so we had to turn our Ferry around and help him. We got a phonecall in our cabin asking Dad to move his car which was parked downstairs because it was blocking the emergency door. The boat guys had to throw ropes to the man, and then a helicopter came and picked him up. Mum and I were a little bit scared, and glad when it was all over.
On our arrival at our hotel at 3am, we decided to go exploring the area straight away, knowing that there should be a beach not more than 2 minutes away from us. At last we were able to slip our moorings on 24 April and are now anchored in the bay on the east of Spinalonga Lagoon waiting for the weather to improve to make our way north into the Cyclades.
