We've made it to France! We travelled down to Plymouth last night and stayed in a ropey hotel - very Faulty Towers! After checking in we were both a bit worried about the bikes on top of the car so went out to get them in the pouring rain and kept them in our room. Great scenery and the iced water was wonderful. 66kms covered today!!! I know some people who don't ...

We're up for breakfast by 7:30 and we seem to have a table for the tour group set up. Bags are to be at the van by 0845 and we're meant to be on our way by 0900. Well, almost, it is a holiday after all. One of our group broke her wrist some weeks ago and has not been cleared by her doctor to ride so she is doing the tour through a mixture of walking and riding in the van. We get away a bit after 9am. It's foggy this morning and ...

... br> It was a major submarine base during WW2 built by the Germans, in the an enormous and imposing concrete bunker.

Opposite the bunker was a fairly new cinema - so that worked out well....

    Hoping for good weather tomorrow....
