To our delighted surprise we got half price off the ticket to go up. The tram had big windows on all sides and Bryan and I sat at the bottom part. ... are quite big given the size of the town and Lachy enjoyed crossing the tracks to get to the other platform. In the cable car, we rose quickly into the mist and arrived at the top to what would be an amazing view if it was a clear day. It was great anyway as we were about to walk to Murren in the Swiss Alps. How good is that? There is train also but we wanted to explore on foot. Waking expecting to hear the patter of rain on the tent, it was a nice surprise to hear the jingle jangle of distant cowbells instead. Despite their sleepy overtones I resisted the temptation to doze off again, and was rewarded with the views outside. The late ascent to the campsite had been worth it after all, with the valley and lake below sheathed in thick cloud whilst up high I was treated to a sunrise over the distant mountains.
