... had a wonderful day with our Swiss friends Rita and Conrad. Annie had met Rita earlier this year in Perth when Rita was on holiday and they both enrolled in the same art course in Fremantle. We walked across the The Kappellbrucke (Chapel Bridge) a beautiful wooden bridge built in 1333 and one of Lucerne's most famous landmarks. ... to visit this quaint little town again. Dinner was served by the hotel, consisting of a nice soup with egg slices and veal sausage in a flaky puff crust and mushroom sauce. Dessert was a refreshing lemon gelato. Weather: it hit 100+ F after we crossed into Switzerland at the last truck stop in the late afternoon. ... boats all have a 1st Class (pay more) and 2nd Class sections. This was an interesting concept as I had only encountered it with air travel (First Class and/or Business Class).

So peaceful and beautiful. The lakeshore - yeah yeah - I need some new adjectives.

Our host is Hedwig, originally from Holland but in Swiss-Land for over 20 years now. Her friend Fritz lives there too, also from Holland and he`s also a Canuckistan! - of the BC kind but we won't hold that against him.

They speak Dutch to each other, Swiss-German or English with T and English to me.

Still tired from the work schedule prior to leaving and trip over so easy day today.

... the skis. We passed three stations on the way up, about 3kms apart, with ski runs going from each. A lovely sunny day. At the top we had a choice of hiring a toboggan for a few hours, walk down to the next station or just hang about for an hour to catch the next train down.
Some went on the toboggan (sled) this held one person, one sat facing forward hanging onto a strap. You braked by digging your heels into the snow, you went down a run ...
