The hospitality is fantastic! The room was spot-on, and the view from the balcony is "to die for!"

We checked out of the hotel by 9.30am, with the good weather on our side. It was abit of an emotional time, while we were pulling away from the grand view of the lake. I knew my wife had a fantastic time, the way she was hugging me on the bike of the bike. And the 172 mile ride back to Stasbourg was a time of reflection, and what we achieved to see …

Today was a perfect start to explore further afield. In fact, a route that I was famaliar where it is popular for bikers. Today, I wanted to see the Jungfrau mountain (4125m) from Eggishorn mountain (2927 metres high). I …

The rain had stopped, temperature was around 19c and mainly overcast. We decided to explore a small section of the Alps. We took the road back to Spiez, then head towards Kandersteg, passing Mulenen, Reichenbach, Frutigen and Blausee.
On arrival, after finding a parking space for Bella (BMW R1200GSA).We took the cable up into the mountains of …

Today the weather was a little more considerate, as we rode with ease to our final destination for the next week. After three hours and a 173 miles, we arrived at the Bellevue-Baren Hotel in Krattigen witb such a fantastic warm welcome by a brillant hostess!
The hotel was of a typical Swiss character, overlooking the lakes, and surrounded by …

      Top of Europe

Our main ambition to travel to Interlaken and the Alps was to visit the second highest mountain in Europe. This was very special, as it is one of those places you have to see before your life is over! The unique Matterhorn mountain, standing in its very prominent location, amongst 29 other mountains. On a personal level, I wanted to take my wife to enjoy the majestic view as a birthday present (and she deserves it!) We weren't going to do this again.
