... where we spent 4 weeks back in 2012. Not much has changed in 2 years... Some might say not much has changed in the last 300 years....but we've found a lovely small apartment. Dinner was red wine, cheese, baguette and pate. Accompanied by some lovely piano music from a nearby house...wonderful. We have really made the grade now with Tony Delroy on ABC radio, he even mentioned us tonight without us even needing to call ...

... du lauteret (2000m) followed by the galibier. The tour will take part of the route we rode and campervans were flowing into the best vantage points in significant numbers ( 2 days before stage starting). The day ended with dinner in Bourg D'Oisans next to a river with trout followed by Rob singing Highway to Hell with the local camp band and Rob and Tony being chatted up by an tipsy older Belgium ...

Next day we travelled on through the Vendee and Charente Maritime regions with an evening stay at Rochefort. A very interesting town, haunt of Cardinal Richilieu, and built as a naval defence base by Louis XIV. Much more our style, because it was small enough to walk about admiring the historic buildings and to see the pleasure harbour, and small commercial port. And it's the French home of oysters... Which they grade and sell like good ...
