... decibels. Truly hideous! The golf course is deserted for the epic match-up. We hire clubs, buy a sufficient quantity of ammo and set off into the incongruous mix of green space and new (mostly empty) avenues of houses and apartments. We both play remarkably well but, suffice it to say, that Hilli wins... she succeeds in getting threes on three of the par 3 holes, including the seventeenth where she cements her win. The seventeenth ...

... leading up to WW2. The genius of a gardener ( a Swiss-French) was acquired from St Petersburg... he having rather carelessly lost his former employer, Tsar Nicholas, to some little spat in 1917. Dinner is a €20 help-yourself ...

... your main actually with the main…we didn't complain of course, we're British don't you know! Bulgarian food also seems to be fairly bland. They think everyone wants to eat pizza! And you have to be very specific if you want a cup of coffee - you get espresso or it might be latte… maybe even a cappuccino. If you order tea, it could be PG Tips, or it might be Green Tea… Who can say? However they do have excellent ...

... shorts'. We got paired up with a Rumanian couple. We have never met any Rumanians before and if these were the norm I'm looking forward to the next lot. We had a really great round together; she was a very good golfer, he had a really bad day... but he managed to keep it together ( well almost, until he threw his driver into the bushes....). Amazingly most of the members of these courses are apparently Rumanians ...
