I arrived in Strasbourg a few minutes before my brother's train so I went there to meet him. He was already there, looking around lost and confused. He spotted me and came over excitedly, and then spotted Lincoln. He made such a big scene over seeing my dog that some girls nearby laughed. He told me he had really hoped I would bring Lincoln. Hablar de Estrasburgo es hablar de la Gran Isla en la que se asienta su centro histórico, abrazada por el rio Ill, afluente del Rhin. Es uno de los cascos medievales mejor conservados de Europa y su catedral es una de las mas altas del mundo. La recorrimos en barco por sus canales y paseamos por el barrio de la Petite France, el mas pinturesco de Estrasburgo y el que tiene mas canales.

... hotel is a big picture of the little prince AND apparently the rooms are decorated after different themes from the book. I didn't get to go in but someday I will definitely stay there.
I also saw my first movie in a German theatre which was really cool...I saw Up, I liked it but obviously didn't understand much. Anyway, I definitely recommend it...even just for a few hours!

Last leg of the European jaunt and we've decided to try out the Black Forest...the bad weather was the final nail in the coffin and after 3 days of dripping foggy weather, we decided to jack in the caravan and head to Octoberfest, but more of that later.

I had planned to visit Strasbourg on three separate dates in the past, all with the same friend. Each time we had to postpone it for one reason or another. Today our plan finally came together. We got in a car with our men and drove out to Strasbourg. My friend is even more organized than me and had everyone download audio guides from Zevisit in our own native language beforehand. ... real beef of the trip, and the girls had pasta and spatzel. I had a French style pizza, we are very close to the border, you know, with a very thin, crispy almost burnt crust, crème fresh as the sauce and bacon and cheese. It was delicious and I think this should be a pizza option in the US. We continued to lounge outside on their patio in this beautiful evening until the no-see-ums got the best of us.

We caught the wrong train and wound up in Gengenbach. While we were waiting for a train back we met a lady who told us the town had a beautiful old-town section. So we went discovering again. After a good look around we stopped at a pub while we were waiting for the next train and got talking to the owner. Turns out he'd been to Australia on holiday, so we had a good time talking to him until it was time to go.

... been rich and important for well over 2,000 years. The Romans had royal and military bath houses here; gambling is legal, and its secluded in the Black Forest. I'll add in all my little knowledge tidbits in the photos section. I give myself one restaurant meal a trip, that way I can try local cuisine; nothing fance, but not kiosk food either. I ate at a very nice little restaurant; had a delicious beer, and a huge flat bread meal. Thanks Rick. Das ist alles fur dies tag.
