... down a friendly Bulgarian'! Just as well there seems to be plenty of friendly Bulgarians around. A lovely couple helped us out - photograph attached. They helped to remove the tyre, then drove Craig to a tyre repair place, waited with him while it was repaired, then drove him back to the coffee shop and helped to refit the tyre! How good is that! We were so grateful. Tomorrow we are off to Bansko then Melnik. We have seven more nights in Bulgaria then its back to Greece. Chao ...

Left Sofia this morning to visit the Rila Monastery - built in the 10th century. Spent about 2 hours wandering around the grounds before leaving for our homestay in a nearby village. Unlike our other stays which were in bed and breakfast places, we are actually sharing a house with the family this time - we have the study, and apparently the wi-fi router in our room :) Took a walk through the village ending up near some tomato ...
