She explained that the bears had all been rescued from various places around the country and there were, supposedly, none left performing in Bulgaria. Left Sofia this morning to visit the Rila Monastery - built in the 10th century. Spent about 2 hours wandering around the grounds before leaving for our homestay in a nearby village. Unlike our other stays which were in bed and breakfast places, we are actually sharing a house with the family this time - we have the study, and apparently the wi-fi router in our room :) Took a walk through the village ending up near some tomato ...
