      We arrived at the airport around 11am. It's such an easy airport to go through!! Took us about 5 minutes to get from the plane, through immigration, and then get to baggage claim.       ... hotel to wait for sunset and a boat trip to see the Amsterdam Light Festival from the canals. Really busy - lots of people queuing to see this and go on the boats. Very pretty and the Amsterdam natives don't seem to care about people seeing into their houses so you got to see into a whole lot of living rooms. Dinner in the hotel again - it was good last night so we decided to try again, just as good second time ...

      ... windmills, de Kat, which is a dye mill and the only remaining working windmill in the world which produces paint. Chalk is ground and different pigments are added to make dye and paints. The sails are turned to face the wind so that the mill will work. The saw mill is capable of turning 360 degrees. The whole place is picturesque, sitting right by the Zaan River.
