Yesterday we packed up and left Granada to drive to Malaga. We took a detour to a town at the foothills of the Sierra Nevada, driving through Lanjaron and Orgiva to get to Pampaneira. Pampaneira is a white town high up in the hills of the Sierra Nevada, the views of the mountains were amazing. Unfortunately the village is very touristy, a problem I've encountered throughout most ...

... On the walk to the beach we saw an old lady fall in the street. We helped her out of the street and a local kid eventually helped her walk home. On the way back to the main road, we are going to ...

We also visited the tourist office to see if we could book tickets to the Alhambra in Granada, but were told to go on line. Not good news for me for two reasons. Firstly the WiFi connection here is poor and erratic. In fact twice I have been down in the ...

First Hike into the Mountains above Mijas Pueblo

Phew! We're exhausted! We're just back from our first real hike in the Sierra mountains above the village of Mijas Pueblo. For our first jaunt out, we'd decided on the red trail, supposedly the easiest one - just 2 hours long. We climbed up to the hermitage/church which had been used as a home for old Carmelite monks, ...
