... a soak in the hot tub! It was extra fun the night it was still snowing. The downside of moving straight from warm t-shirt weather to needing boots, coats, gloves & hats is getting the kids used to putting all the gear on before going anywhere, and then keeping it on. On the other hand I need to get used to the hour it takes to leave the house and all the extra things I need to keep track of when we leave the house, a cafe or playground! Not to mention all ...

... gondola and they were mostly skiers and snowboarders with all their gear. We were standing in the middle of the gondola, so poor little Austen couldn't see a thing except lots of tall people all around him.

When the gondola went over the supporting poles, it swung like a pendulum and everyone let out a scream. It kept swinging and we were all trying to stay on our feet and not freak out! It climbed higher and higher and for most of the ride there was a jagged cliff face ...

Today was an incredible day in Chamonix! We caught the cog railway (much to Austen's delight!) from the town centre up 1000m to the Montenvers Mer de Glace, which is a huge glacier located on the northern slopes of the Mont Blanc mountain range.
