... blushing and going quiet as people talked to her. Leaving Lochronan behind we then headed to the town of Quimper which was around 30mins away. After enjoying Lochronan so much, Quimper paled in comparison and there was not a great deal to see. So we left after about one hour and headed home. Once the children were in bed we then spent a couple of hours tidying the house in preparation for departing ...

... I'd plugged the trailer board lead in upside down! Quickly on board, and found a nice table by a window. A lovely smooth crossing in warm sunshine, with some ship spotting thanks to Phil at home. Greek bulk carrier Patromas heading to Rotterdam, and Jumbo Vision, a heavy crane vessel bound for Alabama. Had the usual salads and frites and a glass of Muscadet, and read yesterday's papers. Trouble free disembarkation and home by ...

Day 7 All week, the forecast had been giving heavy cloud all day, but after overnight rain it started to improve. I'd thought we'd be resorting to a drive, and had roughly planned to see some of the menhirs and dolmens, maybe ending up in Lanildut for lunch. As it turned out, the rain never came. We postponed going out in the car until the afternoon, and decided to have a quick walk to the boulangerie. By the time ...

... mushrooms, lardons and creme, with a salad and a bottle of Muscadet. We were starting back when I spotted a Proxi shop. It was closed until 2.30, a ten minute wait. At about 2.45, when we were giving up, the owners returned from their lunch, and we bought bread and a few other bits for supper. We started on the way back, but I insisted on a detour to Pointe de Guilligui to see a dolmen, and a good view. Just as we pushed the bikes over ...

... Rushed back in to tell Deb that I'd seen a Brittany ferry, then out again to take photos. It was Cap Finistere outbound from Portsmouth to Bilbao, and taking a short cut down Le Chenal du Four. After dark we did some lighthouse spotting, and worked out that the red flash was Le Stiff, and the bright white double flash Creac'h, both on Ouessant. With the eye of faith we could make out La Jument and Kereon as well, and a loom to the south must have been ...
