Today we decided to take a day trip over the Switzerland. The mountains were calling me shall we say. It ended up being a 350km round trip with our little side steps along the way. We thought that it would be an open boarder into Switzerland like the one near Tirano, boy were we wrong! ... walk around the city on our own rather than continue touring with our guide. Once we got back to the hotel, we still had some time before we went out to dinner for our last night, so I went on a run with one of my classmates and ran all the way to the botanical gardens and back. After this lunch we went back to Geneva for another smaller tour with Emilie guiding us. We then ...

Liz was feeling slightly under the weather, so we eschewed the restaurant, and, when the hunger pangs kicked in, we bought a few excellent sandwiches from the little kiosk by handily placed ...

    First day out in Chamonix!

... to go up the top. To get there we needed to catch another gondola which went on for quite awhile and took us really high. From there we got stunning views over Chamonix and the alps opposite. The runs going down were pretty cut up or really icy but there were a few nice powdery parts. We will aim to get up here early tomorrow before it all gets destroyed. We went off piste a couple of times but not far as we didn't know the area at all. By 4pm we were ready to call it a ...
