... to be desired. Still it's all an adventure. We stayed two nights and went into Gijong. A really pretty town on the coast. Had lunch and the went to the supermarket to get something for dinner. Drove from Gijong to St Jean de Luz (France) via Gernika, a town which had been bombed by the Germans during the Spanish Civil War 1937) on the request of Franco, so,we believe. Unfortunately we got there at 1.45 and everything shuts at 2.00 and does not open until 4.00. ...

Surfs Up

After Madrid I headed to South France to do some surfing and relaxing. I stayed with a friend of a friend, Georg, and hanging out with him was great. Georg and I have a similar sense of humor (haha rare find for me) and I was pretty lucky because Georg is a surf instructor and lives a five minute walk from the beach.

I wish I could write a bunch for this entry but all what I really did for the week was surf and cook food every day. It was pretty great and I owe Georg big time.

Oddly enough although the sun was out we couldn't see any of the opposite coastline as there was a definite mist on the water. 7th April, an early start today as we are driving to the medieval town of Dax, by way of the Dune du Pyla, a large sand dune which is 117 metres in height. It took a bit of finding as it was not ...

... I’ve ever seen!
After 3 or 4 hours we went back to the house and got in the shower and had
dinner. The next morning we got up early and the surf got even better. When we
got back to the apartment we went for a cycle on the beachfront. After good 3
hours we went back and went for another surf and it was 3-4 foot and really
steep takeoffs and really long rides. Just as we opened the door mum had
already cooked dinner and it was really ...
