... Bob and Sini. Bob is a retired firefighter like me so lots of common ground there. We walked around Mont St Michele together and discussed our travel plans. Bob expressed that he quite fancied going to Morocco but wasn't sure if he and Ceedie were going to go alone. ... was on a blocked off Main Street with many stalls and a mass of locals in coats an scarves circulating. Shopping, talking with neighbours in the street, occupying tables out the front of cafes with family and friends with beer, coffees and the ever present cigarettes. ... out in the main street ... is anyone there? When we did stop, lunch was over and finished.

This area seems that bit more remote, that bit more 'in the mountains', less pasture, more forest. There are established farms high on the hills to catch the sun with terraced market gardens. We drove back to Conques and bought fruit and stuff. We went up to the village and hunted for ...

... There is a roman bridge still in use; very narrow, just, and I mean just, wide enough for a small car. We settled over tea and a chat. Sally and Chris are English artists who've made a living between here and England.

We walk out and up into the town on the pilgrim's trail. This path goes from Spain through to Italy and beyond. Centuries old. People still walk it, religious or not. This place has been on ...
