We are here at Conques!!! A 22 km walk, and not particularly demanding, now that we realise that there is no flatness anywhere round here...just hills and mountains in every direction. We left at 7.45, a record early for us, as we wanted to get as far as possible before the bad weather hit. Often they are open wide before we arrive, so much better than unopenable windows where you always feel stuffy. Now that we ...

Mur-de-Barrez a pretty town that we visited, on arrival the Aire had a marque erected with a luncheon taking place with a singer... By late afternoon it was all cleared away and Herman was moved to the Aire but not before we had visited the pretty but sinister town with the creepy witch at the top of the hill overlooking it with her menacing ...

... a little village close to Uzes. It was delightful - fresh veggies, bread and tapenade with a glass of wine. Our buy up ended in a special dinner at home which we had so much fun preparing and eating!: Garlic and anchovy toasts Mixed salad with citronnette dressing Rack of herbed lamb Crispy potatoes Baked tomatoes with garlic Cheese and fruit platter (couldn't make it this far so this was kept for the next day!!) Rose ...
