... in Italy. I only got a tiny taste for the culture. I’ve seen almost none of the interesting landscape or met any curious people. And there’s so many great foods I didn’t get to try! So tonight we’re going out for a last supper. I am going to eat pasta in Italy! I don’t care how stereotypical that is.
All I can say is I hope Greece is a might bit warmer so we can get back on track with this travel. And I ...

Where have we come from to where we are today. How could someone determine that the same conclusion should not be met again. You not only find articles to purchase here in these shops but you have to pay to get in! Goodness!
I'll stop, cause I could go on and on and on, the Violence for one, paintings and sculptures and everything displaying violence, men ...

As we drove closer to San Marino, we all started saying, "Did she REALLY say "the NATION" of San Marino?? And that's exactly what it was: It's full title is "The Republic of San Marino". John will do doubt tell you of its history. It's set high on a mountain, with the most glorious view and was yet another treasure chest waiting to be opened for us! It was our nicest hotel by far - VERY upmarket! - and it was exciting to follow the ...
... as each seat filled the novelty soon wore off. It became cramped and uncomfortable... both physically and socially. As soon as we got to Austria however, the stunning views of the huge, steaming mountain forests, and ice blue rivers took our minds off the traveling conditions. On several occasions we couldn't help but gasp and 'wow' at the surroundings (which I felt quite guilty for doing because there was a blind woman in our carriage).
Nevertheless, it is an understatement to ...
... overtakes you on bends and also crosses onto your side of the road going around the sharp bends on steep mountain roads.. including massive trucks. It was enough to keep anyone awake. We were heading for Elba but it seemed like a long drive. Tricked myself though but first aiming for Lake Tramiseno, then siena and then before we knew it we were at Piombino and about to board the ferry to Elba Island...
... bags as well onto the boat.
It was 3pm is by this time, we lined up in the hot sun for a bit..then were let onto the boat. Our cabin was 7099 and we were escorted to our rooms, but not before our escort turned the wrong way. We would have had no troubles finding it ourselves! We headed out of the cabin to scope out the ferry, it was heaps nicer than the last one, and didn't smell bad! It had a pool deck a few lounges, card table, shops etc. Our ...
Off to the beach today, that is pretty much all there is to do in Ancona. Beautiful day though. 30min bus ride to get to the beach. The water was amazing, bright blue with white pebbles.
Got a little burnt! Everyone at the beach was so tanned!!!! even the babies!!!
8am departure from Venice, full bus today. Traffic the whole way to Ancona was horrible. We got in 2hrs late and had to wait 1.5hrs until the hostel opened. We sat on a slab at the end of the street with an aussie couple. After awhile we heard water being dropped form a ...
Ancona, Marche, Italy hayleys09trip... the lengthy waits in various roasting hot areas of the port. First we waited for the boat to arrive, then we waited for the vehicles to disembark, and finally we waited for our turn to board. The biggest problem seemed to be hold-ups getting the on-board traffic out of the town. However, the wait was made easier by a friendly and good-value fast food bar which provided us with fizzy pop (both), beer (Paul) and ice cream (me). I was also ...
Ancona, Marche, Italy saracengill... in my life on one beach. There was even a beach shower at the waters edge (advising us not to use shampo (their spelling not mine).
The water temp was cooler than in Sicily but still pleasant enough. by this time the sun had disappeared behind rain clouds. We headed back into town for coffee & shopping. Mandy found a ring but didn't buy it. I think she regretted it as for the next few days she wanted to head back to Fano.
