After breakfast, we drove through a marmot filled ski resort to start our 2 hour hike. We walked through the free range cattle to the top of a 7,000 foot hill with sweeping view of the Cirque du Gavarnie. The sun was out and we had a lovely time. It was cool to see the Breche du ...
Luz-Saint-Sauveur, Midi-Pyrénées, France kramertown... They don't have the same impact only because getting to the base is a longer walk. But they are big!! Apparently it is a popular ice climbing destination. Yikes!!
The next morning we set off early-ish for our 6 hour walk back along the top ridge of the canyon. Beautiful! It was interesting to look at the Breche de Roland (a famous gap break in the ridge) knowing that just on the other side was the French valley were staying. 10 KM in a ...

We spent a lazy day in and around our hotel, casually visiting Luz Saint Sauveur, about 10 minutes from our hotel. We also drove up to Gavarnie, the famous Cirque in the region. There weren't much in the ways of views as the mountains were in the clouds.

I am glad we went here (particularly because I was not that excited about going) but there is also something said about the place. It is a faith inspiring place but you are also surrounded by so many sick and desperate people that you can't help but feel sad.
Now on a lighter note after a long day and a night mass we head home. As we enter the room there is a giant ...
Go to the Summary Page ___________________________ Entry in French Eh bien c'est un bon départ qui donne le ton: 3h de sommeil (après une semaine de préparation intensive et un weekend de fête abusif), complètement à la bourre jusqu'au dernier moment, j'ai eu mon train à moins d'une minute près, et encore, grace à Manue et Marie (avec qui j'avais promis d'aller boire un café), qui ont acheté et composté mon billet ...
Lourenties, France peacefrog... s French friend, Jeannine. We went to the stone tablets in Oloron-St. Marie and we ate lunch at LeClerc there. The other time we went to a beefarm and milked a cow by hand! It was fun, and the farmer lady spoke fabulous English. She kept telling me not to be afraid!
