Unlike General George Paton we didn't conquer the Ardennes today, it was more like a brief forray. We didn't accompolish all we had planned, but not leaving for the day until after 9.30am didn't help.
We skirted the industrial city of Liege and headed to Namur on the motorway and a look at the Citadel which overlooks the city and the River Meuse. When we got into town we could see the Citadel, but the signposting wasn't ...

Today is Easter and although I've had a good time on this camping, I feel de need to go on. The weather is quite nice. I start walking. My idea is to reach La-Roche-en-Ardenne. It's not long before I stumble upon a very big flee market. I visit the market. After I visited the market, I start hitchhiking. Someone that saw me on the market picks me up and takes me all the ...

... the battle field as it was...complete with live ordinance, shell holes everywhere and you could eat off the pavement it is spotless....and it is manned by Canadian government officials seems they are exchange kids from Canada. They are carrying old folks in the golf carts and checking that no one disturbed the poppies placed at the memorial.

This place feels sacred...its a huge monument to the sacrifices made by the nation for what gains we made (this ...
