Then the group splices yet again: into a ducal palace group and a gondola group. I opted for ducal palace. Which was amazing. The furnishings were just incredible. I think it's just as well my trip is nearly over- I'm feeling ...

... up on the hillside with its protective wall still in intact. Another picturesque place and with a major player in catholic history. Side note- heading to Rome with the Pope in limbo and hearing that there could be a quick decision, which would make Rome a zoo. W are disappointed that we will not be able to see certain parts of Vatican City BUT we are potentially in Rome when a historical decision could be ...

... with one seat still vacant, on which I was relieved to plant myself. It was the middle one of three, with a coat on one and a young fellow sitting on the other - both ends the middle seat free or so I thought! Apparently it was not, his snooty thin girlfriend had gone for a walk leaving him to mind the three seats, and he was trying to tell me it was taken. I stood with a sigh, he stood and picked up her jacket, and moved to the middle seat I had just vacated - ...
