    ... Crater. This is one of the 17 sites where the English had exploded a huge amount explosives under the German positions at 7:28 AM on July 1. It left a enormous crater in the land.     ... on the Oise River, we started to meet the really big ones - the 40 to 48 meter peniches, pushing another flat cargo barge of another 40 - 50 meters or so! That gets to be a lot of boat going by you!

    ... Flowers- roses, poppies, foxgloves, geraniums and multiple others that I couldn't name were in abundance and flourishing. His water garden does not really resemble the one in his paintings but was still a beautiful setting.
    I scored brownie points by buying tickets ahead and we just sauntered casually in -avoiding a long line. Even Ben took some photos- his phone has a great camera.

    Today we are going to see Lois' old school friend. When they were teenagers, they used to stay at Diana's Nana's in Hove. Her dad left her mother the week that Diana was to take her A levels, apparently wrecking her life. We heard from her again exactly 30 years ago in May 1984.
