... in it with 4 kitchens but no bathroom! Evidently people only washed about once a year, including their clothes and instead wore a lot of perfume. I think unfortunately some Europeans still cling to this tradition. Thankfully I am not here in the summer!

It has the largest fresco in the world, painted by Tiepolo, which depicts the four continents. Würzburg, Bavaria, Germany trockie... thing I did notice were the German "rest stops". Unlike those we know in the US, these are simply pullovers and nothing else. Nothing else except men peeing along the side of the road, in broad daylight. Come on Germany- Let's invest in some restrooms! At least one of those McClean pay ones would be an improvement.
Bad Kissingen, Bavaria, Germany trockie... and felt the need to tell meaningless jokes and teach drinking songs.

We had local german beer on the return bus trip, you wouldn't see that in the US.

After dinner we went to the lounge to participate in a trivia game. We lost. No surprises there. The big surprise was a woman who is 77 said she would pole dance and she DID! Hysterical. Who knew this crowd could get so rowdy.
Würzburg, Bavaria, Germany premiertravel... between Budapest and Amsterdam.
We’re now traveling on the Main River. We’ve seen many swans and ducks on the river and the hills have many vineyards. After lunch we docked at Wurzburg , another picturesque town with many church spires and a fortress on the hill. The river is crossed by another old stone bridge with large statues of Bishop Princes and saints lining the sides of the bridge.

Würzburg, Bavaria, Germany tucsonjohnThe fourth biggest city in Germany, with over one million inhabitants, Cologne (Köln in German) began life as a Roman colony or colonia (hence its name). Its location on the Rhine, at the heart of Germania, was key to its status as capital of the province. The city became a centre for worship, famous for the legend and cult of Santa Ursula, and built several splendid Romanesque churches, which survive today.

By the Middle Ages, Cologne was one of ...
Cologne, Bavaria, Germany timedeng... We are told to go upstairs and the audio guides are available at the entrance.

As we go up the stairs we do see the incredible painting on the ceiling here. It is a huge staircase going up in the centre and then divides and goes up again on either side. The painting is astounding. Then we go in to a side room with chairs in it and look at the ceiling in there, another great master piece. There are some tours ...
Würzburg, Bavaria, Germany dancejill... wasn't going to satisfy all of us, so we went in search of something else.

I got us lost because I was stubborn and swore I knew where I was going, while apparently I did not. Katie found the way again and we ended up at KFC. Strange, I know, and not authentic, but it was the only place so far that we've gotten cokes with free refills and all the ice we want. So worth the feeling of eating fast food. Ice is something severely missed by the five of us on this ...
Würzburg, Bavaria, Germany laceymh... nearly straight away for a guided tour up to the Bishops palace. We are all saying, another ABC (another beautiful church or another bloody church) I can’t believe how much money these people must have spent on their castles and palaces when there were starving people in the street. Everything is paved with gold. The gardens were just awesome and we spent quite sometime outside before ...
