... is a bonus. We couldn't imagine how cold it would be in the middle of winter.

We drove for another hour before arriving at Rosenheim. Our hotel is away from the centre and is a family run hotel that has the best meals for ridiculous low prices.

Went for a walk down through the town for late brekky/lunch. Come back to hotel about 1300 and started to pack suit cases and get things organized for our journey up to visit Ricarda in Greifswald. Had a afternoon nap. Went down to bar at 1800 and caught up with Narelle n Gerrard from Darwin. Had tea with them in hotel and went back to their room until midnight. Great night ...

A guard on the train asked what we were doing and said the road ends and there's a river so going that way was forbidden. So we backtracked and took the major roads, wasting more time. We found the hotel, held our breath as it's now 10:20 and the door opened. Relief. The guy had been waiting for us so we showed us to the room. So unbelievable happy to have a place to stay, ...

A long day today, a two hour drive to Chiemsee to take a boat across the lake to Herrenchiemsee the last of the castles built for Ludwig II that we are going to see on our tour. We make a stop in Bad Toelz on the way to shop for a takeaway lunch and have an excellent coffee and cake. The boat ride is only 15 minutes then we get a horse and carriage to the castle itself. This castle was built as a ...
