    ... lifts to the top and walking along the ridges right in the middle of the lovely Austrian alps.
    What we didn't know, was how much we would enjoy the resort. It was right on the edge of a delightful village. Ski village in the winter and hiking, biking and walking in the summer using the lifts and cable cars.     ... to break down, especially when you have spectators and even after trying a jump start it was plain to see that we had to call for help. So Steffie made the most of her ADAC card and within a jiffy we got the jump start from the friendly yellow truck and we could go on our way. Apparently we had drained the battery by just leaving the doors open for too long while trying to cool down the car. Who would have thought?

    ... ruined the style and flair of the place. I don’t know if it would have been better to finish off the place to give it the look that it deserves, although I guess it ties in with the sudden tragic nature of the young King’s death.

    A long day today, a two hour drive to Chiemsee to take a boat across the lake to Herrenchiemsee the last of the castles built for Ludwig II that we are going to see on our tour. We make a stop in Bad Toelz on the way to shop for a takeaway lunch and have an excellent coffee and cake. The boat ride is only 15 minutes then we get a horse and carriage to the castle itself.
