Today turned
out to be a day of disappointments. We walked up to the minibus station to
catch one to the nearby town of Alta Gracia. The bus was of course half an hour
late leaving but we were not pressed for time. We arrived at the town expecting

Upon calling a family who they had rented from before, they found out that the whole family was actually staying at the house for a few weeks so we wouldn't be able to rent it. But instead of leaving it at that, the family then invited our whole ...

... and ask me some questions in English. Needless to say, they were very surprised when I began engaging them in Spanish. As our bus pulled away, I did my best Queen/Pope wave out of the window as we headed back to VGB. Later on that evening we were able to purchase our very own steins and enter the festival site. Mercifully it was full of activity. On stage there were various performances of dance and live music. Fine, but expensive, food ...
