Day 3 & 4: Saluto!

A travel blog entry by laurenashmc

Day three started bright and early at the studio! We had our art history class from 8:30 to 9:30 and then we went straight into touring. First we went to Santa Maria Novella, a beautiful church just across from the train station. The inside was HUGE with super tall ceilings and tons of amazing works of art. We walked around and sketched for a good hour because there was just so much to see.

The roads are steep and winding and people in Europe love to pass each other. Not a good mix. The road was blocked and were forced to turn around. We knew we would just get lost if we tried to take a detour, so after a few minutes we turned ...

A travel blog entry by bettymoore

We took a bus from our apartment to the old city, and walked to the Galleria del Accademia, where Michaelangelo's real statue of David is housed. Despite the crowded lineups, we had reserved a ticket and went again to a shorter line that moved quickly. We followed the Rick Steves audio tour, but were a bit ...
