... to name the city he founded after the first animal he killed on the hunt: a bear. More recent historical discoveries suggest the city was named after a toponym of Celtic origin. Regardless, the bear has been on the city's seal and coat of arms since the 1220s and the oldest reference to the city keeping live bears goes back to 1440s. But we would have been happy just to know the stories and see the bear emblem everywhere, a strong symbol in itself for any city.

The spire was finally completed in 1893. The Cathedral is Switzerland's largest and most significant church from the Late Middle Ages and is the dominant structure in Bern's Old Town. Alright! Left house and fast walk to the train station for our Canyoning trip! We fast walk from the house to Berne station to take the 8.04 train to Interlaken West station. The guy from Alpin Raft told us to meet there at 9.00am.

After we alighted, we are freeze till death. Today was so cold again! The guy is on time and drive us to the base to prepare our stuffs. Once we made our payment, the guy took us to a room to select our wet suit. ...
