Wonderful place to stay in the heart of Constance with its historical memorabilia and friendly atmosphere. Enjoyed returning to this friendly hotel whose staff remembered us and welcomed us back.

We arrived back in Constance having done 203 kilometres and passing through three countries - Switzerland, Germany and Austria. On our 5th day we had breakfast in Germany at Lindau, morning tea in Austria (Bregenz) and dinner in Switzerland at Rorschach and all within 45 kilometres! A fairly seamless exercise culturally except for the Austrian …

... Gilly. I then entered a tunnel with no way of being able to turn around. I then found myself on a dual carriageway heading towards where we needed to be.
After pulling over and waiting for 10 minutes, I then text Les and told him that I would continue on to Lindau at the south end of Lake Constance which was our destination for the night.

So I had 100 km of solo riding which I really enjoyed and about 75 minutes ...

... Forest cuckoo clocks and carved figures. The rain is now intermittent between heavy and light. We steadily climb for most of the morning reaching a height of just over 3000 feet and into spline meadows. As we drop down towards Lake Constance the rain turns to showers. We parked at Meersbruck an historic village on the north shore of the lake. The village comprises of a higher level where there ...

Time to move on, and after a quick breakfast we packed up
and set off for Schaffhausen, a really nice town further down the Rhine from Kreuzlingen.
The trip was only about 40kms and we soon arrived and booked into our new
campsite. The Rhine is literally flowing on our doorstep and the site is
    peaceful.

The rest of the day was spent cycling around the region. We
rode about 20kms up the river to Stein am Rhine where we had a bite to eat
    after which ...

Today is Grandfather’s 80th birthday and since
Corinne has recently turned 21 it was decided to celebrate their birthdays
together at a fancy restaurant in Gottlieben which is a beautiful old town
situated on the banks of the Rhine.

After a quick breakfast Stef, Jan, Corinne and I cycled out
to the town of Steckborn where we met the gang of relatives and jumped on board
a boat which took us down river ...
