Wonderful place to stay in the heart of Constance with its historical memorabilia and friendly atmosphere. Enjoyed returning to this friendly hotel whose staff remembered us and welcomed us back.

We arrived back in Constance having done 203 kilometres and passing through three countries - Switzerland, Germany and Austria. On our 5th day we had breakfast in Germany at Lindau, morning tea in Austria (Bregenz) and dinner in Switzerland at Rorschach and all within 45 kilometres! A fairly seamless exercise culturally except for the Austrian …

It has been a great start so far - our program has 33 students from all over and it has been fun getting to know everyone and seeing how University life differs in Europe from the U.S!

... got pretty cold in the snow - because for some reason they still have outdoor shopping malls, like queen street in Brisbane. It was nice at first till it started getting too cold. Then we went to the only other thing in the town which was open, which was the Zeppelin Museum. It turns out this was pretty much the home of the Zeppelin - or where they were built anyway. We had a walk around and quite a few exhibits had English translations which was good. I'm not ...

Yesterday was Christmas and we had a pretty relaxed day in our apartment. Everything here was closed so we just chilled and made the most of being on holiday. We didn't eat too much since we didn't find an open shop on Christmas eve, that was probably a good thing anyway!! It snowed a tiny bit but it didn't settle, so no white Christmas. I spoke to my parents and grandparents on Skype which was nice, but it ...

... at all hours of the night, we went for a beautiful walk down at the lake and prepared for our Christmas Eve celebration. The afternoon consisted of Head Chef Felice and Sous Chef Hayley taking on the kitchen and preparing a range of delicious dips, as well as sticky pulled pork neck for the occasion. We drank and were merry the entire evening, all in our matching Christmas pyjamas, thoughtfully transported half way across the world! We watched Home Alone, sang carols ...
