Wonderful place to stay in the heart of Constance with its historical memorabilia and friendly atmosphere. Enjoyed returning to this friendly hotel whose staff remembered us and welcomed us back.

We arrived back in Constance having done 203 kilometres and passing through three countries - Switzerland, Germany and Austria. On our 5th day we had breakfast in Germany at Lindau, morning tea in Austria (Bregenz) and dinner in Switzerland at Rorschach and all within 45 kilometres! A fairly seamless exercise culturally except for the Austrian …

... pure shunting through towns, particularly Freiburg where we saw an actual shunt, a woman having driven into the back of a man, and doing her best to blame him. It reminded me, with our limited language skills (though Liza's German isn't bad) how difficult a situation that could prove for us. Sat nav, as ever, got us through it all. Serena, what a girl. Seriously. We would have been mental to attempt this without her. I think this at practically every junction we ...

... for Constance. Now this place had some style and interest. We were turned away from the campsite as it was full but they told us we could park for 12 hours around where the swimming pool carpark was. Perfect. We have everything we need so a free camp was great. After so much moving and travelling we were a bit tired but we decided to still jump on our bikes to explore Constance and to do so means you ride from Switzerland into Germany and back in an afternoon. During the war ...

This past week my parents came in town to visit Andy and I. It was so much fun having them here with us!

Wednesday morning I caught a train and then an S-Bahn to the Stuttgart Airport to pick them up. After we met up, we headed back to the Stuttgart HBF to catch a train back to Ulm. When we arrived at our apartment, I gave them a tour of our apartment, and we sat and caught up for a bit. After a few hours the jet lag began to set in, so we all took naps. By the time we woke ...

After a very winterry winter in south Germany and as another friend of ours is getting married this year, we decided to go to Konstanz for the day to help her with her preparations.

Konstanz is on the Bodensee, a large lake in south Germany surrounded by Germany, Switzerland and Austria (around 250m deep and forms part ...
