... idea so much cooler and we got to Bonn by 10 30 when it was still a reasonable temperature. Elly found Beethoven haus where Beethoven was born to take some pictures then we had some gelato in the main square so we could publish some more blogs! The next stage of the cycle was potentially our favourite bit so far! In to the Rhine gorge with woods either side of the river for cycling through, made ...

... bike paths but were easy to follow if not as smooth or wide. We cycled past the Ford factory which was huge, and churning out a lot of cars by the look of things. We soon reached a very sunny Cologne and temperatures at about 35 degrees meant we were pleased to stop. We had a quick wonder round and grabbed and ice cream before heading 3 miles down to our campsite on the Rhine! Easy enough, the only issue was having to take the tandem on to a bridge which only had stairs... ...

... crowd. I am a huge fan of the "go cup" in the US, and walking around town or sitting with a beer people watching is a lot of fun. So, I stopped in a store and grabbed a bottle from the cooler, paid, and opened it with the bottle opener hanging from the door. On down the street we found the girls some ice cream, both ordering mint chocolate chip. That was it for the day, back to the room for a good nights sleep with AC, on what had to be one of Germany's hottest summer days.

... We finished the 'marathon' at 5 am and two of my classmates were lost so we stayed an extra two hours after the show trying to find them. The police and medics had no record of them in the drunk tank or hospital so we were forced to leave without them. Luckily they both showed up in one piece, for the most part, later on the same day back in Luxembourg. It was an awesome weekend! :)
