Today we woke early to have breakfast before our taxi came to take us to the train station. We were running a tad late due to the overly relaxed concierge and when we arrived at the station were in trouble for being only 2 mins early for the bus. To add to the pressure we had to pay the taxi driver the fee of €25 which would have been fine if we had the cash or had time to go to the ATM. It was amazing to walk through time from antiquities of Egypt and the Near East to Greek and Roman time then the 12th-21stC, rooms of sculptures, tapestries, carriages, maps of Italy and modern art. I saw works by Raphael, Giotto, Leonardo, Caravaggio, Van Gogh, Matisse and Moore. All this was building up to the amazing Cappella Sistina.....WOW!! The artwork on the roof was moving and ...
