We were talking to four other people - two from Extremadura (in Spain), one from the Balearic Islands (in Spain), and another from Ecuador. They are all students here trying to practice their English. So, we spoke to them in Spanish and they spoke to us in English. It was very interesting and we were able to help each other learn so much.

Next, after lunch we drove to our last destination - Comillas. This part of our trip was definitely the coolest part. We got to see an old palace called la Castilla de sobrellano, which was a neogothical styled home with hints of modernism in the decor. After walking around and noting that EVERY store was closed, we checked out a candy shop. While this wouldn't normally be something worth mentioning, I had my first Kinder sorpresa! It's a hollow chocolate egg with a toy inside! Sounds safe for kids right? Anyway, it was excellent!

... of Santander and headed out of the city to the suburb of Peñacastillo. It was only 15 minutes by bus and then a five minute walk to find her apartment building.

The only problem I had was that when I arrived, there was no one at the apartment. I guess this is the risk you take when not staying in a hotel or hostel, there is no reception. Laura had said that her brother would be in, but he wasn't. I didn't really know what to do, so ...
