... in Belgrade was sleep for about 3 hours or so. We were exhausted from the night before.

When we woke up and got ready for the day, we walked up to the old town area. Belgrade is a big, busy city but the old town area is kind of nice because there’s a pedestrian-only street that leads to the ancient fortress. There are modern shops (and many book shops) all along the pedestrian street. We had read that Belgrade is a "book town." It’s true- we saw so ...

Belgrade, Serbia hostel.sun... There were lots of overwight elderly serbians sunbathing. But I did manage to find the ferryboat to Agu Cigallia so came home via the beach there. All without feeling overtired.

I've also half packed for tomorrow and sorted the route so it feels like a sucessful day. Internet access in the next couple of days might be sporadic. But its good to be setting off again.
Belgrade, Serbia i_could_walk... lying island which has sports clubs and an ad-hoc collection of ramshackle houses and houseboats. Getting there was an adventure in traffic; pedestrian's dashing across dual carriageways as there is no provided crossing. Crazy. On the island there are cycle paths and it turned into a pleasant day, buying beer, cycling, buying hamburgers, reading the blind watchmaker and repeating. Not much happened and it was a battle to stay awake but its was pretty idyllic too. Being Sunday the ...
Belgrade, Serbia i_could_walk... He looked up at me with a look that suggested marketing wasn't a speciality. "400 Euros" I stared at him incredulously. for 400 Euro's I could start my own company that sold t-shirts with pictures of war criminals on- better war criminals too. "400 Euros or Dinars?" (400 dinars is £3.75, a lot closer to my budget than 400 Euros which is more like £318- the day I pay that much for a t-shirt is the day I stick a slice of bread up my **** and claim ...
Belgrade, Serbia englishanddrunk... that mean? So I sit down, and as I'm waiting I watch one of the shack dwellers working on what must have been a car at one point. There was no body; just a frame, an engine, one seat, a steering wheel, and possibly some floorboards. Every ten minutes or so, somebody would give this thing a push start; it would sputter and then die very loudly. After forty minutes goes by and still nothing; "one moment" he says. One thing that keeps giving me an uneasy feeling is this kid who keeps ...
Belgrade, Serbia and Montenegro dabassisstItinerary : Istanbul - Sofia - Belgrade Dates : 10th December to 12th of December 2007 Mileage in eastern Europe : 700 km Mileage so far : 21650 km. In the afternoon, after the BMW stop, we headed for the border where we would cross into Bulgaria and stay a night in Sofia. No need to explain the hassle to get out of Turkey as you are well aware by now...On the other hand, the Bulgarian side was quick and easy...Great feeling to finally ...
Belgrade, Serbia and Montenegro caprile... I could take pictures of him as well. Little did he know I had already secretly shot a few when he wasn't paying attention! He laughed at my stealthiness and then posed for me for a proper one. We then walked down the main street and stopped at different sidewalk vendors and bought a book, some sunglasses, and postcards to send home. Then continued on to the vegetable market to get some supplies for the week. Next to the river is a square where the farmers ...
Valjevo, Serbia and Montenegro graceonthego... perpetually confused...I'm getting quite used to it...smile and nod and pray that someone will explain...luckily passport is pretty much a universal word :p D) pretty much never take people's opinions of a place too seriously as theres are unique experiences and just because someone has a negative experience, does not mean that you will! (that goes for guidebook warnings as well...be smart but don't let yourself get paranoid!)
