    ... be hot and humid and it did not disappoint. The forecast called for huge thunderstorms for many of the days, so we packed accordingly ... And used none of it. Barely anything outside of the aforementioned bright sunny skies. I melted like a marshmallow too close to the flame, but that was expected and I have learned over time that when something meets your expectations it's usually a good thing.

    ... and mom said "why not?" So... We did!! With Rod's love of Mexican but his equal, if not greater, desire for authentic travel experiences I'm was wondering if he would approve. The Mexican was not the greatest but I will say that it was a welcomed change for the italian we eat daily.     ... we did all of the sights. St. Marks basilica, the bell tower, the grand canal cruise (using Rick Steve's audio guide), and generally wandered around. We bought a map but have never used it, just walked around exploring. We splurged on dinner and then sat at a cafe in the middle of a lit up St.Marks square listening to duelling orchestras, it was amazing!     At the piazza there are many restaurants trying to get tourists to go eat there. There are also live bands playing while you eat. We saw this old couple dancing romantically like there is no one else looking. It was so cute! I had to take a picture of them.
