I flew into one out of two airports in Istanbul on Tuesday. It was the airport on the Asian side of the city. I arrived just after midday but after a shuttle to Taksim, a ride on the funicular and then ten stops on the tramway, plus the use of a lot of hand signals and broken English, I made it to Sultahnamet, the area where my hostel was located.
