... was a wonderful way to recuperate. We were not used to the low altitude or humid weather though, and, just suffered a little... Poor us. We met two bikers who were travelling through Mexico for several weeks on their Harleys and having a blast. They were from Welland, Ontario. Maybe something for Brad and Bruce W. to consider... The next day, we went back into Pochulta and caught a van to Miahuatlan, where Scott lives. We met Scott last year in ...

... might be a bit of an overstatement, but who needs them with a view this amazing? I'm over the kitchen and the smell of pancakes (more indicative of paradise than anything the natural world has to offer, in my humble opinion) wafts up into the room. Sigh. And the very best part? Something that made me want to weep with happiness? Mosquito nets!! Yes!!! I slept under a mosquito net again, for the first time in almost two years, and while I ...
Zipolite, Oaxaca, Mexico dmwalsh... there would be all american GI ******* about checking out all the naked people, but it really has been great. Certaintly are a lot more hotdogs around than there are taco's if you follow, but I guess that's because guys will take any oppertunity to get their kit off, so yes my buns are getting nice and toasted. Again there is not much more to report, plenty of beers, plenty of food and plenty of beach. We reluctantly leave tomorrow, however we are now off to Havana which is muchos exciting.
Zipolite, Mexico shanemilli... only stay there for a couple more days, before moving on to try to find something more to our liking. I had meanwhile found a good (with A/C) public internet place that also had telephone booths and calls were somewhat reasonably priced. So on Monday, I tried to call the US Embassy in Mexico City, only to discover that it was the Martin Luther King holiday and they were ...
Huatulco, Mexico chictravelers2We arrived in Pochutla fairly early in the morning - I think it was a little before 6am. Nothing had opened yet, however this didn't prevent a throng of 15 taxi drivers from assaulting everyone as soon as we got off the bus: "Taxi?!? Taxi!?!". We had planned on waiting around and taking a local bus to Mazunte, however a couple from Poland asked if we wanted to split a cab to Puerto Angel, so we decided to just go with them. It was still pretty ...
Mazunte, Mexico checky... does that do? Why? What are you saying? What are we eating? Talk about going through a change of life! We find our best hours are on the bikes. We see locals get up in the mornings, go to school, work, cook meals, come home from work in their crew cabs (packed in the back of a truck box) and other everyday things. They are all doing the same ...
Huatulco, Mexico guruzers... I learned about it in my Culture of Oaxaca class, but this is the real thing, man. IŽll keep you all informed. So I always tell you guys the new things in my life, but I havenŽt described a typical day for me. So here goes! I usually wake up around 7AM to exercise. There is a park nearby that I can run laps around, but the last few times, IŽve run with another girl from my program, Khetiwe, so we can run around el Centro and other streets. There are plenty of ...
Oaxaca, Mexico spragk... turns into dredlocks. Yes, I'm exaggerating. I have no pictures to show you so you can't tell. The longer I'm on the road, the less I care that I look like a tourist. What is it that makes us want to fit in? Thing is, I'll look like a tourist no matter what I wear. Maybe I hate the way American tourists usually appear and I don't want to look like them. Many are round. I don't quite have that problem. Nor am I obnoxiously loud. Am I? I'll ask you again after I've had a couple of tequillas.
Huatulco, Mexico kittenbumHey Guys, Just a quick one I'm afraid as internet prices here are astronomical! After leaving San Cristobal de las Casas on Wednesday evening, we arrived into Mazunte at 9am. We pretty muched lazed about for the rest of the day and I made my first foray into the Pacific, woo hoo! I've spent the past two days in the sea, the surf is ...
