Travel Blogs from St. Moritz
This morning we caught a series of 3 trains to take us from our hotel in Zurich Airport to St Moritz. St. Moritz is home to the rich and famous during the skiing season. The tourists desert St Moritz at this time of year so it is fairly quiet. The journey involved us catching 3 trains and a bus. One train from Zurich Airport to Zurich - about 10km …
Maybe you noticed last night's blog didn't happen, but your correspondent offers no apology except to say it was nice to have an early sleep.
Don't know about you, but I really enjoy the rain. That's what's happening here in the Alps. Rain. It's a good thing for two reasons - gives me a chance to catch up with my cuz Roger (also his partner Joe) and we can sit around and do not much.

Departed Vienna early on the road to Switzerland to visit my cousin Roger and his partner Joe who have invited me to stay with them in the Alps for a few days. Their home is high in the mountains (1100 meters up) in ...
... one person who has tested my tolerance levels. Travelling through here I am reminded of my favourite childhood book, Heidi. The cows even have bells around their necks as the freely wander around the hills side. I keep looking for her but she is no where to be seen. Tomorrow we head to Lucerne and another train journey. It's great to be off the bus for a while and the views seem even better by ...

TravelPod Member ReviewsHotel Baren St. Moritz
We have been told not to expect too much of the hotels in Switzerland. The Hotel Baren proved to be an exception to this. It has good sized bed, bath and sitting rooms and a balcony with beautiful views of the mountains behind St. Moritz.
The food was OK but not what I would normally order (Broccoli soup, ham and turkey and fruit salad).
There is no internet in the room but it is available in the lobby.
