... fire prevention and firefighting techniques. There is now a museum dedicated to the history of
firefighting. We had a look around that and a few of the other things to see that we hadn’t seen on the tour, like the various (very upmarket) craft shops including a goldsmith and shoe maker.
Once we felt we had seen everything, we headed back to the campsite to pick up our swimming gear and spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing and cooling off in the Schlosssee.

    Saying Goodbye to New Friends

... Bob got through all of his, but I got a "doggy bag", and finished mine for afternoon tea. Delicious! It was then time for sad goodbyes to our new friends, David and Jenny, Linda and Ian, Yvonne and Renata, Jean and Guy, Lynne and Jo, and of course Patrick and Maree and Anja. Last Hike

It was a 1 megawatt unit that used wood chips made of waste timber in the valley at a cost of 30 euros ...

... to the minivans it was just a short drive back to Faschina, and after a warm day a few of us decided to cool down in the outdoor pool. At 23.5 degrees it was a tad chilly, but refreshing after a long hike. It was our first opportunity for a swim, and with such a spectacular backdrop, worth the initial shock. Dinner was up to the standard we had come to expect, and after a short group meeting it was time to retire for the ...

Beautiful One Day, Spectacular the Next

... idyllic. Lunch over and we resumed our hike, luckily in a downhill direction. The last part was quite a steep descent along a narrow track that eventually lead to the main road, and more importantly our destination for the totally unnecessary cake and coffee, which we nonetheless enjoyed while Patrick and Anya caught the bus to where we had left the cars. It was probably the best cake we had had to date - apricot cake served with cream and ice cream. ...
