Today's agenda was to head North, to Stein am Rhein, a little quaint town along the Rhine river/Germany border.
We walked around the historic city-centre for a bit and then had lunch. The infamous sausage with onion gravy and pomme frittes was as good as Beth assured us it would be!

For dinner, I headed back towards my pension, the surrounding area being touted as the place to be for the tragically hip. I walked the streets passed any number of cool little restaurants and bars but didn't have it in me tonight to dine alone. ... two chocolate balls we bought. Yes, only two...maybe two inches in diameter...costing about 9 US dollars for the two. I almost puked when she rang up the total. I wanted to tell the woman to put them back...also to mention how absolutely insane it was to charge that much for a chocolate ball. But I smiled politely and complained to Christian on the way out instead! I think that was my only purchase that day.
