Well we didn't really spend much time in Frankenthal. It was really just a stopover since we arrived a day early for my mum to arrive in Frankfurt.

... br>It all began in Wurzburg, the first stop on the Romantic Road. We spent one night there, and toured the town, which was far more modern than I'd expected. We drove the next day to Rothenburg ob der Tauber, which is possibly the most perfectly preserved medieval town in Germany. Really, it's stunning. The entire town is half-timbered buildings. The only problem with it is that it's much like Venice; the entire town exists for tourists, and there's not much real life going on ...

... the sunshine. Then I decided that I would probably walk a lot all day, so I would just take it easy until 10. I walked through the square by the church, and several produce stalls were open. Of course, there was plenty of spargel available! Then I went to the quieter square behind the church square, the one with the golden monument and the entrance to the castle stairs. I found a bench to sit on and just watch the people. The area was a lot less crowded than the evening before ...

... and our bus was to leave at 7:30. There was a group of us running behind though so we did make it to the bus... only a few minutes late. Once in Heidelberg, our group traveled up to the castle that still remains there. It was built in the 11th century and the majority of it still stands now. It was an amazing view of the city. ... An intersting note- they use two or three Falcons to keep the pigeons at bay- we never saw a single one, only the Falcons!

The day trip to Heidelberg with Choi. Took the train in the "morning" or 12pm. Didn't know what to expect from this place. Was very impressed. Lovely scenic town with a magnificent old castel that blew me away. Was huge! Uni town so heaps of people would love to come back spend a few days here.
