... at speeds so great that it is dangerous to be caught out on the flats on an incoming tide.
Huge amounts have been invested at Mont St Michel on parking and people moving infrastructure; the shuttle buses with driver position at each end are free( paid for by parking fees). The bus terminus is on a causeway and the buses do not need to turn, rather efficient!

DAY SIX - THURSDAY Today, we have finally rested for the night at Le Grouin du Sud, just north of Avranches. First we stopped at Carolles Plage, where we got fresh water. We didn't really fancy staying there and paying 8€ for the privilege! We did fork out 3€ for 10 mins of water. It never takes 10 minutes to fill our tank as it's never completely empty. Lunched there and then set off to find a Super U for fuel and gas. Found that and did yet ...

... buildings is so effective given the haphazard nature of its development.

We visited one of the many restaurants overlooking the bay and enjoyed a late lunch of moules and frites (mussels and chips), a traditional local specialty. Our view of the bay from our lunch table looking back to the mainland with the tide out was of a large expanse of fairly unattractive mudflats, especially with the sky being so grey and gloomy. The buildup ...
