... against nature: a woman genius." Cuz only men can be geniuses. Moreover, he brother left her to rot in an insane asylum for the last 30 years of her life. A fascinating story but it just makes me mad. Anyway, that particular exhibition got me to wondering how much more art would there be if we hadn’t barred women from all the various forms for so long. What beauty could we have had? What interesting and innovative styles? It irks me.
After the museum I went to ...
... it was kind of blah.
The one I really liked was the Cathedral Saint Pierre (pic 4, pic 5). It was gigantic and had some beautiful gothic architecture. Left Arromanches about 9.30am and drive through Bayeux onto Rennes where we lunched at the Golden Arches, purely because they had the convenience of food and toilets at the same venue.
After lunch we continued on, mostly on the motorway, however Madam Navman did lead us astray every now and then and we did drive through some small villages and countryside as we tried to skirt around the bigger cities.
Arrived at Poitiers at 4.30 pm, only 465 kms covered all up, ...
